MOHRE Holds Workshop To Develop Solutions To Issue Labour Absconding Report Service

The Ministry of Labour has recently held its first workshop at the newly adapted innovation lab where attendees discussed labour absconding report services and reviewed development processes. The lab was initiated by H.E Saqr Ghobash Minister of Labour last Wednesday, as part of the Innovation Week, as per the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE to declare 2015 as year of innovation, and after His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, launched a government initiative to support and fund the innovative ideas, aimed at contributing to achieve the 2021 Vision

His Excellency Humaid bin Deemas Al Suwaidi Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs welcomed all the attendees to the workshop via the Smart Robot HD Screen which the ministry programmed to remotely connect directors to employees while attending brainstorming sessions.

Noura Mohammed Al Marzouqi, Director of Strategic Planning & Performance Management Department, said, "The workshop is designed to facilitate communication between the ministry and strategic partners to propose innovative ideas that will add to current services and simplify the development procedures to meet expectations accordingly."

Aisha Belharfiya, Director of Labour Offices in Dubai, confirmed the importance of such workshops, in terms of accessibility to review challenges, brainstorm and develop appropriate solutions within an innovative environment which the laboratory provides.

During the workshop, attendees formed working groups to review the most relevant Labour Absconding challenges facing employers then develop appropriate concepts and solutions to these challenges and relevant parties.

The workshop was attended by Mohammed Ahmed Mubarak, Director of Labor Relations Office in Dubai and Fahd Obeid Jalal lieutenant at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Abdel Nasser Al-Halabi Director of ‘Itqan’ Tasheel Service Center, and a number of employers.
