Innovation Award Launch By Ministry Of Human Resources

Dubai – August 28th, 2016 Following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and completing UAE's 2021 vision, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation launched the Innovation Award 2016.

Noura Mohammed Almarzouqi, Assistant Undersecretary Of Development Of HR, Chief Executive Officer of Innovation at the MoHRE, said "The award was launched to stimulate a creative and innovative environment to reach pioneering projects within different sectors related to the ministry's services, the award adds to the ministry's strategy towards encouraging targeted categories to pursue innovation in general."

The award targets five categories; innovative employees, customers, strategic partners, students and innovative projects. The evaluation criteria runs through a special panel which has set the 'innovative employee criteria' that had been listed in the Prime Ministers Categories as a standard criteria to evaluate the rest of the categories.

The judging panel looks into the amount and quality of what the candidates of the first four categories provided through their innovative ideas, studies, methods, efforts and projects. As well as, the extent of application to what had been suggested from innovative ideas and creative initiatives. The panel looks upon main results and impacts expected from each idea.

The innovative projects has a different set of evaluation criteria, the ministry's innovation board shall monitor the project's implementation process, in which an initial study that represents the idea must be placed, as well as its objectives, outcomes, implementation methods, expectations, team members, targeted audiences, application plan, suggested resources, and risks.

The innovative project must highlight current and future applications of the idea, determine the parties affected by the project, and note down the concerned parties.

Awards

First place winners of the innovative employees category includes a month's basic salary as a grand prize, second place winner gets 70 per cent of the basic salary, third place receives 50 per cent of the salary.

Innovative customers category, first place winner shall receive Dh10,000 UAE dirhams, second place winner will receive Dh5,000 and the third place will be handed Dh3,000.

Strategic partner award will see a Dh3,000 award for first place winner only, second and third aren't entitled to any cash handouts. The students category first place winner will receive a Dh10,000 prize, second 5,000 and third 3,000.

Last but not least, the innovative project first place winner will receive Dh30,000 cash prize only, second and third place winners won't receive cash awards.
